Stevie Nicks Announces 'Stand Back' Disc Set Collection
Stevie Nicks has announced the release of two separate Stand Back compilations. The collection focuses on her solo career. Coincidentally, (or perhaps not so coincidental), the first will be released on the same day she will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for her solo work.
The first is a single-disc set, it includes 16 of Stevie's best-known songs, including "Stand Back", "Edge of Seventeen" and duets with Don Henley - "Leather and Lace" and Tom Petty - "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around". Also featured are live versions of two songs Nicks wrote for Fleetwood Mac, "Gold Dust Woman" and "Dreams". The single disc set will be available on March 29.
Next, a 3-disc, 50-track version of the collection will be available on April 19. The second disc of this set -- titled Stand Back: 1981-2017 -- further spotlights Stevie Nicks' collaborations with other artists. In addition to the duets with Tom Petty and Don Henley, included are also hits with Walter Egan ("Magnet and Steel") and Kenny Loggins ("Whenever I Call You 'Friend'").
The collection also features more recent collaborations, like "You Can't Fix This," that she recorded with Dave Grohl, as well as collaborations with Sheryl Crow, and Lana Del Rey. “You’re Not The One” and “Beautiful People Beautiful Problems” respectively.
The 3rd disc features recordings and songs that found their way onto various movie soundtracks, including Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Heavy Metal. The 50-track collection will also be available in a 6-LP version on June 28.
