Watch The Official Netflix Trailer For 'Springsteen On Broadway' Movie
The official trailer for the movie based on Bruce Springsteen’s critically acclaimed show at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York, "Springsteen on Broadway' has been released by Netflix.
The one man show special was filmed on July 17th and 18th in front of a private crowd. A soundtrack album for the movie will arrive on December 14th (two days before it airs on Netflix), and can be pre-ordered here at Amazon
“This is what I’ve presented to you all these years, as my long and noisy prayer – as my magic trick,” says Springsteen in the opening scene of the trailer. “And like all good magic tricks, it begins with a setup.” Moving into early track “Growin’ Up,” Bruce continues with, “When I was a young man and looking for a voice to tell my stories, well, I chose my father’s voice. My father was my hero. And my greatest foe.”
In the final moments of the 2½ minute trailer Springsteen contemplates, “Everybody has a love-hate relationship with their hometown. Take me: I’m Mr. ‘Born to Run’ – I currently live 10 minutes from my hometown.” The promo also highlights his discussion of his parents, career ups and downs, and shows him performing with his wife Patti Scialfa.
