Watch Surviving Members of Nirvana Reunite For Surprise Performance at Cal Jam
The surviving members of Nirvana shared the stage last night (October 6) for a surprise performance at the closing of the Cal Jam Festival of Foo Fighters.
Following the main set of Foo Fighters, Krist Novoselic joined Dave Grohl and Pat Smear to perform six Nirvana songs.
In place of the late Kurt Cobain, the trio recruited John McCauley, singer of Deer Tick, and the legendary Joan Jett. Both had participated in the Nirvana reunion concert after joining the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
McCauley was the lead vocalist on "Serve the Servants", "Scentless Apprentice" and "In Bloom". Then, Jett took the stage to interpret "Breed", "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "All Apologies". The latter also included Brody Dalle from The Distillers on bass.
