Vince Neil Reveals Release Date For Mötley Crüe Biopic
According to Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil. The long-anticipated biopic "The Dirt" will be released on March 22nd by Netflix, He reported on his twitter page that he had seen the completed movie, which is based on Mötley Crüe’s 2001 memoir of the same name.
“Wow!!! Just left Netflix offices,” he tweeted. “Just saw ‘The Dirt’ movie!! Fuckin awesome!! Can’t wait for everyone to see it! Released March 22!! Yea!!!”
Vince confirmed back in September of this year that the band had rejoined to record four songs for the soundtrack to the film. His statement led to some confusion for fans, who understood the band had split up at the end of their final world tour in 2015.
“For those of you who don’t understand, yes 'the boys' means Motley and we signed a contract not to tour anymore," Neil explained. "We never broke up or said we would never make music again. Hope this clears it up."
Mötley Crüe Bassist Nikki Sixx later reassured fans that the new material was up to par, stating that, “I’m listening to the roughs of the new Mötley Crüe and it feels real and raw. Everybody is playing like mad and the songs crush." Sixx added mysteriously, "Plus we have a surprise that will confirm that we’re outta our minds.”
Production on The Dirt movie began back in 2006, but it was not until Netflix started work on the project last year that it began moving towards being completed. Daniel Webber plays the part of Vince Neil in the movie, Nikki Sixx is played by Douglas Cooper, Iwan Rheon plays as guitarist Mick Mars and rapper Machine Gun Kelly plays as drummer Tommy Lee.
Rock-themed movies are currently booming, with the Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody being confirmed as the highest-grossing music biopic of all time, and the Elton John's biopic Rocketman is also due to be released in 2019
