Suspicious Package Turned Out to be a Journey Cassette, Not a Bomb
Bomb packages recently sent to Democrats and major media in the United States have put many people on alert. On Tuesday morning (October 30), the police were summoned to a building in Charlotte, North Carolina, to investigate a possible explosive. But, fortunately, the content of the package was simply a Journey cassette.
According to WBTV , the reception of the Duke Energy building in Charlotte received a manila envelope with the name of the addressee handwritten. The employees called the police, who arrived with an anti-bomb squad and a dog unit to investigate.
The building was evacuated and the nearby streets were closed. However, it turned out to be a false alarm, although it is unknown why the sender sent the tape that way. It is also not known if it is a specific Journey album or a homemade compilation.
Last week, bombs were sent to 14 addresses, including former President Barack Obama , former Vice President Joe Biden , CNN offices in New York and several other Democrats and critics of the Trump administration. In all cases, the packages were intercepted before they could cause damage.
On Friday, Cesar Sayoc was arrested in Plantation, Florida, in connection with these shipments. He reportedly lived in a van that was covered with pro- Donald Trump and anti-Democrat messages , and according to a former boss, self-identified as a white supremacist.
Sayoc, 56, who has been arrested nine times on charges of theft and possession of drugs, faces at least five federal charges. If convicted, he could serve up to 48 years in prison.
