Slash Says New Album is Natural Evolution of the Previous
Guitarist Slash spoke in an interview with Blabbermouth about his upcoming solo album, "Living The Dream." The album, recorded with vocalist Myles Kennedy and supporting band The Conspirators, will be released on September 21.
According to Slash , the material for "Living The Dream" began to be composed even during the "World On Fire" tour, which preceded the guitarist's return to Guns N' Roses. The idea was to record the album after a brief rest of the tour, but the return to its original band caused the musician to postpone the plans for two and a half years.
"('Living The Dream') It's a natural evolution of 'World On Fire' for sure.I think it has a bit more diversity - I do not consider some of the ideas to be 'predictable.'" The album is also more structured with songs shorter and more direct this time," he said.
The musician also stressed that the title "Living the Dream" has a double meaning. "The title is a sarcastic statement about the world we're living in. I've never touched politics on records, but it's something that has come out: this explicit thing geared to political events around the world. If you take it literally, and that's why I've always been ready to play again with this band, and I knew it would happen, because the history of the Conspirators did not end," he said
