See the Preview Trailer for the U.S. Festival 1982 Film
The 1982 US Festival held during the Labor Day weekend September 3,4 and 5 at the Glen Helen Regional Park in Devore, California, is the subject of an upcoming concert film "The US Generation: The 1982 US Festival" to be released this Friday August 10.
The film documents the events of the epic three-day concert event featuring an impressive lineup of some of the biggest names in music, performing live for a crowd of over one million people.
Highlights included in the movie are performances by chart-topping superstars Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Cars, The Police, Carlos Santana, The B-52s, and many more.
The event was funded by Apple Computers co-founder Steve Wozniak. In a statement producers said. “Wozniak wanted to create something that was a true celebration of Americana, cultivating positive vibes and building a deep sense of community through the power of technology and music.”
In the preview trailer below Wozniak says “I was so thankful that I had all this money from Apple, because I could do it, and nobody else would.” Peter Ellis, the festival's president adds: “Money wasn’t an issue. It was something he wanted to do, and do right.”
