Roger Waters Used His Own Private Jet to Reunite Mother With Her Kidnapped Children
Roger Waters used his private jet to reunite a mother with her children who had been kidnapped.
Felicia Perkins-Ferreira had not seen her children in more than four years after they were kidnapped and taken to Syria by their father in 2014.
After learning of her difficult situation, Waters flew with Perkins-Ferreira to the Iraq-Syria border so he could meet with her sons, Ayyub and Mahmud.
It is believed that his father died in 2017, while fighting in Raqqa. According to Sky, his father's new wife abandoned the children on the side of the road after his death.
The children have been treated at a camp where a friend of Waters, Clive Stafford-Smith, realized his situation. When asked about Waters, he said: "[Roger] agreed to pay everything and took a flight with the mother from Trinidad. Let's make sure they get ahead with a really productive and decent life."
Perkins-Ferreira later thanked Waters and everyone who helped reunite her with her children, saying that she was "very, very grateful" and that she would like to meet them "and hug them" to express their gratitude.
