Paul McCartney Reveals Which Musicians He Admires Most
The former Beatle performed today (July 25) at the Institute of Performing Arts in Liverpool, where he spoke with Jarvis Cocker. The event was attended by around 450 students and was broadcast live on Facebook.
During the talk, McCartney was asked which musicians he admired most and why. "My fellow Beatles," he replied. " John [Lennon] , who was very good, and George [Harrison] and Ringo [Starr] . After working with John so close, I could see [his songs] before the rest of the world. I am a great fan".
On the process of composition of the duo, Paul added: "When we worked together on something, often what happened was that whoever created that song would bring the first verse and then we would sit down and take it back from there. The little things he did were great."
Outside of his former bandmates, McCartney also highlighted Stevie Wonder , describing him as a "musical monster."
Meanwhile, the musician also revealed that he has scheduled a secret show in Liverpool tomorrow (July 26). The location of the concert has not yet been revealed.
Earlier this week, he hosted an intimate show held at the Abbey Road Studios in London for a select group of fans. He was previously filmed walking the Abbey Road pedestrian path almost 49 years after the day The Beatles was photographed there for the cover of his 1969 album "Abbey Road."
McCartney will release his next studio album, "Egypt Station," on September 7. Two songs of the disc have already been shared , "I Do not Know" and "Come On To Me".
