new chris cornell box set

A new box set celebrating Chris Cornell's musical legacy will be released next November.

The material, christened simply "Chris Cornell", was curated by the musician's wife, Vicky, in collaboration with his bandmates and friends. The list of 64 songs includes material from several bands that Cornell integrated, such as Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, as well as music from his solo career.

Noteworthy is the inclusion of 11 unreleased tracks, including a version of "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Prince and an original song, "When Bad Does Good", which was released today (September 21).

Among the unpublished material is a live recording with Yusuf (Cat Stevens) in "Wild World" and another Cornell duo with his daughter, Toni, in "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley. There is also a unique version of "One", with the lyrics of the Metallica song set to the music of the U2 track of the same name, and a first time release of "Show Me How To Live" by Audioslave, recorded live in Cuba in 2015 .

The album's notes were written by former bandmates and Cornell collaborators, including Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden, Tom Morello of Audioslave, Mike McCready of Temple of the Dog and producer Brendan O'Brien .

"Chris Cornell" will also be available as a single disc with 17 songs and double vinyl.
