KK Downing Sells His Share of Judas Priest Royalty Rights to Round Hill Music
Kenneth "KK" Downing, one of the
founders of Judas Priest, sold his
copyrights on the group's songs due
to financial problems
According to Billboard, Round Hill Music was the one who acquired his copyrights and thereby a significant participation in the Judas Priest catalog - Kenneth was responsible for composing most of the group's songs from "Rocka Rolla" (1974) to "Nostradamus" (2008).
According to a survey by FRP Advisory LLP, rights granted generate something between $ 340,000.00 and $ 400,000.00 per year in royalties (an approximate amount of between R $ 1,280,000.00 and R $ 1,510,000.00 ).
Kenneth invested millions at a luxury resort, Astbury Hall, in Shropshire, England (if you google it, you'll see it's owner name). The resort has a huge 18-hole golf course, and even though it was well-rated in the specialized environment, it had been collecting constant losses. Because of this, the musician filed for bankruptcy last year.
The property is for sale for an estimated £ 10 million (approximately R $ 49.5 million). On the site of the development , you can see all the luxury and beauty of the place
