Guns N' Roses: Justin Hawkins, from Darkness, tells how the band is more good with life
In an interview with Metro News, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness , who opened tours to Guns N 'Roses in 2006 in 2012 and 2018, commented on the band's quieter phase today regarding the heyday of madness.
You're opening for Guns N 'Roses . It's fun?
It is wonderful. We opened for them in 2012 and 2006 too - but this time is better. The weather is great. They're enjoying playing the songs, there are fewer delays, it's a cool experience. We played in Imola in Italy for 120 thousand people. It was wonderful.
Why is it better than previous tours?
On the first tour there was a time when Axl was coming out of his dressing room onto the stage and a security guard grabbed me and held it against the wall so I would not get in the way of him. That sort of thing was normal. The second time we toured with them, we would leave the stage, talk to friends, go back to the hotel, drink some drinks, and Guns N 'Roses had not yet come on stage. This time it seems they are enjoying the show and they sound great.
