Foo Fighters Postpones Shows After Dave Grohl Became Voiceless
Foo Fighters have postponed a couple of dates of the of "Concrete and Gold" concert tour while Dave Grohl is recovering from an illness.
After the show in Seattle on Saturday night, Grohl "suffered a loss of voice and is now resting vocally," according to a press release. In a statement, Grohl joked: "That's the last time I ever make out with Bono" ( the U2 singer faces a similar vocal problem ).
As a result, upcoming Foo Fighters shows in Edmonton and Calgary have been delayed until October. The September 4 concert at Rogers Place in Edmonton will take place on October 22, while the September 6 show at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary will be held on October 23.
During the mentioned concert in Seattle Foo Fighters, Grohl and Pat Smear met with former teammate of Nirvana, Krist Novoselic, to perform "Molly's Lips" by The Vaselines .
The Vaselines was one of the favorite bands of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana played "Molly's Lips" several times, including his now legendary "John Peel Session" of 1990. A recording of this song was left out of "Incesticide", the compilation of sides B of Nirvana published in 1992.
