Daryl Dragon, Part of the 70's Pop Duo Captain & Tennille Dead at 76
Daryl Dragon, the "Captain" of the 70s pop duo The Captain & Tennille, died at the age of 76. According to CNN, Dragon suffered from kidney failure.
Along with his wife, Cathryn Antoinette "Toni" Tennille, Dragon released a series of memorable singles, including "Love Will Keep Us Together," "Do That to Me One More Time," and "Muskrat Love."
The couple also had their television series on the US network ABC between 1976 and 1977. Classically trained pianist, Dragon served as a substitute musician for the Beach Boys during the 1960s before embarking on his own career.
Dragon and Tennille divorced in 2014, although reports say they were still close friends. According to publicist Harlan Boll, Tennille was next to Dragon when he passed away.
"He was a brilliant musician with many friends who loved him very much," Tennille said in a statement. "I was more creative in my life when I was with him."
