A pair of legal letters that foretells the breakup of the legendary Beatles are currently up for sale. Moments in Time is selling the two letters for a combined price of $550,000.

The letters are dated January 1969 and April 1969 and were sent to John Eastman and Lee Eastman. The January 1969 letter is being sold for $225,000, while the April 1969 letter is priced at $325,000.

The January letter, signed by all four members of the Beatles as well as the head of Apple Corps. Neil Aspinall, is addressed to John Eastman notifying him that "we retain you and authorize you to act on our behalf in negotiations in respect of all contracts proposed."

But then, in the second letter, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr end their relationship with Eastman to begin working with Rolling Stones' manager Allan Klein.

"This is to inform you of the fact that you are not authorized to act of to hold yourself as the attorney or legal representative of 'The Beatles' or of any of the companies which the Beatles own or control," is stated in the April 1969 letter. "We recognize that you are authorized to act for Paul McCartney, personally, and in this regard we will instruct our representatives to give you the fullest co-operation."

The Beatles officially split up in 1970 after releasing their final album Let It Be.
