AC/DC Working on a New Album With Recordings of Malcolm Young
AC/DC is working on a new album that will feature the work of the late rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young on "each song," according to "a reliable source within the AC /DC camp," cited by JAM Magazine, with Headquarters in Dallas.
According to the source, Young's brother, Angus, is working on a new AC/ DC album dedicated to Malcolm's memory. The guitarist died in November last year after retiring from the band due to early dementia.
Malcolm recorded the material that will be used for the album along with his brother in the early 2000s, "five years before" his album "Black Ice" (2008).
The source told JAM: "It turns out that five years before the 'Black Ice' LP, the 15th AC / DC studio release, Angus and Malcolm Young lived together [sic] where they literally wrote hundreds of songs, many were recorded and they have been hidden until now."
"Angus has decided to select the best songs from those recordings that Malcolm played and is now back in the studio recording and mixing them with his band mates Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and yes, Brian Johnson on vocals."
The singer of the band since 1980, Brian Johnson, was forced to leave the group in 2016 after suffering a hearing loss, and was replaced in the tour by the vocalist of Guns N' Roses, Axl Rose.
Last month, rumors indicated that AC/DC would be working on new songs with vocalist Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd, after both were seen together in Vancouver. It was commented that the rest of the group was also there.
Earlier this year, the singer of the Astralian band Rose Tattoo, Angry Anderson, reported that Angus Young was composing songs for a new AC/DC album with Axl Rose in mind.
